An intergenerational opportunity to learn various elements of performing live theatre, from play selection to audience appreciation. Shoestring production, sets, costumes and props ?begged, borrowed, thrift shops? and from personal collections. One act or longer plays, Two 90 minute rehearsals per week. First 6 weeks focuses on reading plays. While the rest of semester involves production elements. Selections are chosen by participants, rehearsals are scheduled, and all elements of production are performed by class members themselves, from assembling sets, props, and wardrobe to writing publicity blurbs and photography for advertising.
