Job Description
BASIC FUNCTION: Work in the office Monday through Friday, part-time (20-25 hours per week), assisting in all areas of the CVB including the needs of the CVB Director.
 
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Customer focused, friendly, personable individual meeting visitors and answering questions about the region
  • Professionally maintains the phones and reception/visitor lobby area giving a pleasant, enthusiastic professional first impression for all visitors and callers
  • Provide knowledge of the Cocoa Beach area to those inquiring and direct the visitor to the CVB Partner businesses
  • Develop and manage monthly volunteer schedule
  • Maintain computer files on the main Chamber server using Microsoft Office and in virtual office
  • Assists in updating VisitCocoaBeach.com with business partner’s information including addresses, e-mail addresses and phone numbers
  • Responsible for mass mailings of Visitor Information (ex: Visitor’s Guide, brochures, etc.)
  • Assist with setting up meetings, and some coordinating of routine events, including organization of FAM Trips/Tours for volunteers
  • Responsible for general office administrative duties for the CVB and its Director, including taking official minutes for the CVB Board meetings (familiarity with Robert’s Rules of Order a plus)
  • Assists in the Visitor Center traffic spreadsheet tracking
  • Maintains professional demeanor and attitude to both internal and external visitors and partners
  • Participate in Chamber activities as needed
  • Demonstrate organizational/community leadership in all aspects of Chamber activities
  • Comfortable managing a website and social media platforms
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Perform other duties as assigned to maintain the daily operation of the organization
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
SUPERVISION EXERCISED AND RECEIVED:
 

Direct supervision is received from the Director of the Convention and Visitors Bureau. Most tasks are delegated with general instructions as to objectives and assistance as needed. Other tasks are delegated with specific instructions and deadlines in conjunction with scheduled meetings and events.

Overtime hours worked must be approved ahead of time by the Chamber’s CEO or Vice President. Failure to comply with this policy could result in disciplinary action up to or including termination.

 

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Typist (40 wpm) with professional knowledge of computers and Microsoft Applications, Excel, Power Point and general knowledge of Adobe/graphic design a plus
  • Personable with professional telephone Skills
  • Professional Appearance
  • Working knowledge of Brevard business community/ governmental agencies, including the tourism community
  • Self motivated with the ability to multi-task
  • Detailed oriented and well organized
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • The employee must have the ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in relationship to the work environment
 
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must adhere to safety requirements established within the organization's environment, and any other standards as set forth by the company's safety officer. The noise level is low to moderate.
